I am seeking information from owners of the Toyota 4.5 litre, diesel V8, 70 series vehicles.
I have just had a USA manufactured, good quality, flooded wet cell, deep cycle
battery fail after 2 years use. It was maintained
well and only had a light load from part time use on a 40 litre Engle. The engine bay of the V8 is hot and the location behind the starter
battery is the hotter spot and I am leaning towards the idea that this
temperature may have shortened its life (though it may have just been a dud)
I am not after advice on what batteries have been used in other models of vehicles, Toyota or otherwise (only the V8, 70 series), or of batteries mounted in other locations in the vehicle.
Q1. Have any V8 – 70 series owners had bad experiences with batteries in the auxillary
battery location under the bonnet and if so what was the
battery make and life in service?
Q2. Have any had good experiences and if so what was the
battery make and life in service?
Any help appreciated.
